Welcome to Kate’s DIY Korner!

What is DIY? It is ‘Do It Yourself’ and it’s not as intimidating as you probably think!

At Destination Wellness, we believe well-being is a constant journey and a huge part of that is physical health. We are regularly exposed to a countless number of toxins from what we breathe and ingest to what’s absorbed through our skin. We are only beginning to understand the effects of this on our physical health but it’s safe to assume it’s not all good. It is impossible to eliminate all toxin exposure, but we can minimize it and the best place to start is at home!

Kate has been on a journey to minimize her toxin exposure over the last 18 months or so (this is mainly to offset her red wine consumption!). At first, she purchased the all-natural, eco-friendly products but quickly got fed up with how much more expensive these are compared to their ‘normal’ equivalents. As a result, she started experimenting with alternatives.

Her journey started with skincare, substituting castile soap for body wash and almond oil for lotion. Kate then started to consider her household products. We can often overlook these as we don’t directly ingest these or rub them on our skin but it’s another simple way to minimize toxin exposure.

Kate is constantly experimenting with different recipes for everything from a face mask to toothpaste to daily shower spray and Kate’s DIY Korner is where you can follow her adventures. She’ll be sharing her favorites and successes via the blog so make sure you’re checking in regularly!
