Consistency and Habits

We all know that being consistent has its rewards whether in dieting, exercising or anything you are doing. There are many quotes out there to help you, ‘motivate’ you to continue. But of course there is always a but, the motivation comes from within you.


Here are some suggestions to help keep you motivated:

  • Have a plan. Once you have your goal, make plans on how to achieve this goal. Outline steps on that are achievable.

  • Set short term wins. You will be motivated to keep going once you attain your short-term wiins.

  • Be accountable whether you can do this for yourself or get a partner to help keep you accountable.

  • Set rules and stick to them. Such rules help you maintain healthy habits with ease. The idea is to have a few precise rules you can stick to.

  • Create small habits, like drinking 2 liters of water a day or eating an apple for afternoon snack. This will help be a daily reminder to you for creating bigger habits.

  • Stop making excuses. Excuses are easy to make a justify. Avoid making excuses and just do what you have to do.

  • Suck it up. Let’s cut to the chase, some days you will not be motivated and you will just have suck it up and do it anyway.

Many of these have helped me and still help me with my goals. Hopefully these will help you stay on track and achieve your goals. This is all about you, do what you need to do to achieve your goals. We are all different with different habits, find what works for you. And do not forget to support your friends in achieving their goals.
