Sweet Potato Tuna Patties

These Sweet Potato Tuna Patties are easy to make, delicious, quick, gluten free, and healthy!


2 medium sweet potatoes - peeled and sliced into chunks

2 cans tuna in water (drained )

½ cup green onions or chives

½ cup gluten-free breadcrumbs

2 eggs

½ cup onions (red or whatever you have)

1/2 cup pepper (yellow, red or green)

½ teaspoon garlic powder

¼ teaspoon chili powder

¼ teaspoon chili flakes

Salt and pepper

Olive Oil


  • Boil your sweet potatoes for about 10 minutes or until tender.

  • Drain and Transfer to a bowl and mash with a fork.

  • Add the green onions, red onions, pepper, eggs, tuna, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, chili powder, chilli flakes, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are combined. (in addition to this you can add almost any ingredient that you can have in your fridge, such as parsley, green beans, jalapeños...)

  • Use your hand to shape the mixing portions.

  • Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat and add olive oil.

  • Cook patties for about 3 minutes on both sides or until golden brown.
