Well, Christmas is over, it's the 'in between' we all know and still never know how to deal with other than be confused for a few days - think we all actually like it as we feel no responsibilities during this time. It's no different in most European countries than it is in the US. I have had to think more than once today about what day of the week it is, it's Monday.
I have run since my last post, just didn't post it as it was too close to Christmas. Christmas was strange this year for me, it's been over a year since I've seen my family and friends in the US in person, longest I've ever gone. This year was very low key due to the pandemic, saw so few folks this year although I had a lovely time with my boyfriend, Jan-Åke, although it was different for him too.
As I was running today, was thinking what is 2021 going to be like. It won't be as we all hoped, that at the stroke of midnight on 31st that a magic wand will make everything all happy and wonderful. Most of us make New Years resolutions, goals for ourselves to start new things or change up something – this year will definitely be different.
There are many things we can all do, for ourselves and others around us. The most oblivious is our attitude, a choice we make every day when we wake up. It is amazing how a positive attitude is contagious, so no matter what is going on around us, we can choose to have a positive attitude, be grateful for what you have.
Another important thing to do is to take care of yourself, no one but you can or will to that. Always take time for yourself, whether it’s a walk, run, good workout talking with a friend/family or supporting the same, or just taking a long relaxing bath at the end of a difficult day. Try to do at least one or two of these daily.
