Vietnamese Lime Iced Tea (Tr Chanh Hanoi)

With the second part of May being Vietnamese food, I went on the search for Vietnamese juices and smoothies. Instead of a smoothie or juice, I stumbled upon this recipe for Lime Ices Tea. I was intrigued and just had to try is as it stated this is a very common drink in Vietnam.

This Vietnamese Lime Iced Tea is a refreshing drink that is well-loved by young people in Vietnam. You need just a handful of ingredients to make this popular Vietnamese drink. You will not be disappointed, so refreshing and delicious, as well as so very easy. This drink will be my summer go to for sure.


2 green tea bags

1 cup of hot water

2 tablespoons of honey – add more if you like it sweeter

4 ½ tablespoons lime juice



1. Brew green tea in hot water for 3-5 minutes, or to desired strength.

2. Discard tea bags and add honey, stir to combine. Set it aside to cool for about 10 minutes.

3. Add lime juice and mix. Pour into serving glasses with a lot of ice and serve.

So delicious and refreshing!
